Below is an article written after sitting down and interviewing my mentor, Rosa Pena, I learned many interesting and intriguing things about her personal, and work life. She gave me personal insight on what her daily job day is as well as how she got to where she is now. Not only did she give me insight on her career life, but gave me very good advice so that I may succeed in whichever career path I am lead to . I ultimately hope that everything she has told me, and all of the advice, Rosa has given to me, will help me succeed in my very own chosen career path as a future Registered Nurse.
Rosa Pena is a worker at Golden Living Center, and Evergreen Gardens and Evergreen Meadows Assisted Living Facility. This May of 2016 will mark her 25th year of working at Golden Living Center. She is very involved in our city of Sanger, by being an active citizen in The City of Sanger's Government, for ten years (2000-2010). Not only was she involved in Sanger's government, but had the time to raise four children, and be a fantastic grandmother to her nine grandchildren. When she isn't working, or being involved in the community she enjoys spending time with family, traveling during her spare time, and cooking. Rosa became interested in her job when she became a caregiver to her elderly grandmother. She enjoyed caring for her loved one so much that she decided to apply at Golden Living Center in, 1996, by the ED of the facility. During the interview he encouraged her to apply. She first started working at Golden Living Center as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). After working as a CNA for a while, she was asked to do other duties as a RNA, a Restorative Aide, as well as work very close with the Therapy Department. She also was working very close with the Charge Nurse, and Doctor. Rosa went on to say that,"It's a very fulfilling career."
